A fatal accident has closed part of the Dale Mabry Highway

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Part of the Dale Mabry Highway was closed after a crash that killed a woman and sent a man to the hospital, according to the Tampa Police Department.

The Tampa Police Department said two vehicles collided at the intersection of North Dale Mabry Highway and West South Avenue at approximately 11:04 a.m.

Police said a woman and a man from one vehicle were taken to hospital, and the woman suffered life-threatening injuries. However, she died shortly after being taken to hospital.

The second driver was not injured.

At the time of this report, both northbound and southbound lanes are closed between West Hillsborough Avenue and West Martin Luther King Boulevard.

The cause of the disaster is not yet known.
