Ariana Grande releases star-studded music video “The boy is mine”: watch here

Ariana Grande’s new music video for her song “the boy is mine”, from her album “eternal sunshine”, is out now and features a host of stars.

Grande transforms into Catwoman in the Christian Breslauer-directed video, alongside “You” actor Penn Badgley, who plays a newly elected mayor who releases stray, “starving” cats onto the streets to solve the infestation city ​​rats.

Brandy and Monica also make appearances in the video, playing reporters who introduce the mayor before a press conference.

Grande’s fans know that she previously explained that “the boy is mine” was inspired by Brandy and Monica’s 1998 hit of the same name.

“I always wanted to re-imagine this song in some way,” she said during an interview with Zane Lowe. “There’s a big group of my fans who really love bad girl anthems, and this one is kind of, I think, an upgraded version of that.”

Grande confirmed Thursday during an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” that Badgley, who she said she has been a fan of “her whole life,” would appear in the video.

“He was so amazing to work with, I’m such a fan,” she said of the actor, adding that she was “super honored to have him.”

Grande first teased the clip in an Instagram video on May 27. The video showed a man leaning over a sink filled with ice before cutting a hand appearing behind a door frame. The title cards then revealed the song’s title and release date of June 7.

Grande’s seventh studio album, “Eternal Sunshine,” arrived in early March with 13 songs and a feature from her grandmother.

“The Boy Is Mine” is the third video clip from the album, after “yes, and?” and “we can’t be friends (wait for your love).”
