100-year-old World War II veteran marries 96-year-old sweetheart near D-Day beaches in Normandy

World War II veteran Harold Terens and his beloved Jeanne Swerlin proved that love is eternal when they were married inland on the D-Day beaches in Normandy, France, on Saturday. The site was the elegant stone town hall of Carentan, a key initial D-Day target that saw fierce fighting after the Allied landings on June 6, 1944, which helped free Europe from the tyranny of Adolf Hitler.
