King Charles “will not slow down or do what he is told,” says Queen Camilla |  UK news

The king is “doing well,” but “he won’t slow down and do what he’s told,” the queen said.

The prince spoke to novelist Lee Child, who appeared at the second annual Queen’s Reading Room festival at Hampton Court Palace in Surrey on Saturday.

The author of the Jack Reacher crime thriller series said he “sounds like a typical husband.”

The king recently returned to public duties while still undergoing treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer.

Buckingham Palace said it was detected during an unrelated procedure for an enlarged prostate, but it was not prostate cancer.

Meanwhile, British-Australian actress Miriam Margolyes said she was “delighted” to be at the festival.

She also called it an “incredible honor” and said she told the queen she was “very fond” of the monarch.

The Queen spoke to a number of authors during the festival, including Sir Ian Rankin and Ann Cleeves.
