LIVERMORE — Authorities said three lanes of a Bay Area highway were closed for about a mile Tuesday morning after a vegetation fire broke out.
The fire broke out near the North Flynn Road exit off Interstate 580, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The agency issued a Heavy Traffic Sig Alert after closing all but the far left eastbound lanes around 8:15 a.m.
It was unclear how quickly the fire spread and how many acres were burned. Officials with the Alameda County Fire Department and the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department did not immediately respond to messages.
