The firefighter’s GoFundMe has raised over $45,000 to support the ranch while it recovers from burns

An online fundraiser for an Alameda County firefighter recovering from burns suffered while fighting the Corral Fire has exceeded its goal after just one day.

According to an online collection, Brandon Franco, a firefighter with the Alameda County Fire Department, suffered several burns on multiple parts of his body while extinguishing a grass fire on June 1. The party was organized by the International Association of Firefighters, Local 55, the union representing Alameda County firefighters, on behalf of Franco’s wife, Krystealle Franco.

The GoFundMe page said Franco’s burns required surgery and additional treatments, but he is expected to make a full recovery. Donations collected through the site will be used to support Franco’s ranch during his recovery, including covering essential items, caring for the animals and maintaining the property.

As of noon Tuesday, more than 600 people and organizations had donated nearly $63,000. The Livermore Pleasanton Firefighters Foundation’s donation of $1,500 was only exceeded by one anonymous donor who gave $2,000.
