A pedestrian is in serious condition after being hit by a car near the Indianapolis Italian Street Festival

INDIANAPOLIS — A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Saturday near the site of the Italian Street Festival in Indianapolis.

Public police reporting systems indicate that law enforcement was first called to the area of ​​Stevens Street and South East Street on a report of an accident. At the time of the crash, Holy Rosary Catholic Church, located at 520 Stevens Street, was hosting an Italian Street Festival in Indy.


The Indianapolis State Police Department said one vehicle was involved in the incident.

According to IMPD, the pedestrian who was struck during the crash was an adult male. According to the police, the man’s condition is currently serious.

IMPD said the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash remained at the scene and cooperated with officers.
