2 people arrested for stealing from actor Anupam Kher’s office in Andheri |  Mumbai News

The Mumbai Police has arrested two men in connection with a theft at Bollywood actor Anupam Kher’s office in Andheri, which took place between 9 p.m. on June 19 and 9.30 a.m. on June 20, officials said.

“Two defendants were arrested in the western suburbs of the city late on Friday evening,” the investigator said.

According to police, the actor’s employees closed the office on the night of June 19, and the next morning they discovered that the door was broken and the safe was missing.

According to the First Information Report, cash worth Rs 4.15 lakh, a safe worth Rs 2,000, a bag and negatives of the film were stolen.

Anupam Kher then shared a video on Instagram in which he said, “Last night in my office on Veera Desai Road, two thieves broke open two doors and stole a safe from the accounting department, which they probably failed to crack, and the film negatives. produced by our company, which were in the box. Our office has filed an FIR. The police assure that the thieves will be caught soon. The CCTV camera shows them both sitting in the car with the goods.”

The Amboli police have registered a case under sections 454 (Lurking, house-breaking or burglary with intent to commit an offense punishable with imprisonment), 457 (Lurking, house-breaking or burglary at night with intent to commit an offense punishable with imprisonment) and 380 ( theft from a dwelling house etc.) of the Indian Penal Code.

During the course of the investigation, police said they had distributed screenshots of CCTV footage of the suspects to their informants and had managed to identify two suspects based on other technical evidence.

Police said they were checking whether the defendants had committed thefts from other homes or offices in the past.
