In another mass shooting incident, a man in Arkansas opened fire on a supermarket, killing three people and wounding several others as shoppers and passersby hid both inside and outside the store.

Arkansas State Police Director Mike Hagar said shooter Travis Eugene Posey was also wounded in the shootout with police.

The injured included two law enforcement officers who exchanged fire with the suspect and shot him, state police said. The shooting occurred around 11:30 a.m. at the Mad Butcher grocery store in Fordyce, a town of about 3,200 people located 65 miles (64 kilometers) south of Little Rock.

“Unfortunately, we can confirm that 11 innocent civilians were shot and three of them are dead. Two law enforcement officers were injured in the exchange of shots. The suspect was also shot and arrested,” Hagar said.

Meanwhile, Posey, 44, has been arrested and charged with three counts of murder, while some other charges are still pending.

Officials said the injuries to Posey and the two officers were not life-threatening, while civilian injuries ranged from non-life-threatening to extremely critical.

However, police have not yet confirmed whether the shooting took place inside or outside the grocery store. They also have not determined a motive for Posey’s shooting or confirmed the identities of the victims.

Photos taken by reporters at the scene showed multiple bullet holes in a grocery store window and shell casings scattered throughout the parking lot. Local and state agencies can be seen responding to the scene in the video, with at least one medical helicopter landing nearby.
