Napoli is seriously interested in acquiring the Barcelona striker for EUR 61 million

Vitor Roque has had a forgettable first six months at FC Barcelona, having barely played for the Catalans since joining from Athletico Paranaense at the turn of the year.

Therefore, entering the summer transfer window, the 19-year-old striker, for whom Barça spent 61 million euros (30 million euros plus 31 million euros in add-ons), is strongly linked with leaving.

Although reports suggest that new manager Hansi Flick is open to the idea of keeping him, Roque could end up leaving anyway due to the Catalans’ financial problems over Fair Play, which would make his registration difficult.

There are also many suitors for Roque from clubs such as FC Porto and Atletico Madrid.

Napoli enters the race

Now, according to Joaquim Piera from SPORT, the leading Serie A team, Napoli, has also joined the race to acquire Vitor Roque from Barcelona in the summer.

The Parthenopeia are starting a new project under Antonio Conte as manager and are looking for reinforcements in attack as main striker Victor Osimhen may leave the team this summer.

Napoli are therefore “serious” about their interest in Roque, having had good reports about the Brazilian striker since his time with Athletico Paranaense. The only reason they didn’t try to sign him last year was because they felt they couldn’t compete with Barcelona.

Now, however, the situation has changed and the Serie A giants intend to talk to Barcelona soon to discuss their position on Roque, who remains in Flick’s plans for now, at least for the pre-season.

Depending on Barcelona’s position, Napoli will present an offer as they are open to either loaning the 19-year-old or making the transfer permanent.

However, as mentioned earlier, Porto are still insisting on signing Roque and have made it clear to Barcelona director Deco.

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid also wants the 19-year-old to take part in the operation that will result in Joao Felix being loaned to Barcelona for next season.

This morning, reports emerged that Fiorentina had also contacted the club’s management Blaugrana for Roque. It will be interesting to see how the fate of the 19-year-old, who has not lost his admirers despite a slow start to life in Europe, will unfold.
