The TSOGA Mocha (Youth Awakening) youth sports program, organized under Operation Fiela, was held at Club 2000 at Kutlwanong Park on Saturday to address the issue of harassment and crime among women and children.

Event organizer Thabiso Louw said that apart from football, volleyball, volleyball and indigenous games, the program touched on issues of social cohesion and diversity in the community and ethical behavior in and outside the church.

He said more than 500 young people took part in the games, including juvenile delinquents who were being reintegrated into the community.

“The aim of the program is to build a crime-free society and protect children from crime,” Louw said.

Program veteran William Steenkamp added that boys must be provided with the skills to become part of the country’s solution.
