Many Farmville students honored by colleges

The spring semester has come to an end and it’s time for colleges and universities to send out notices recognizing students for their year-long efforts. In this latest round of honors, we have several Farmville students honored for their work in the classroom.

The College of William and Mary was recognized Evelyn Weese for work during the spring semester of 2024. The Farmville resident was named to the school’s dean’s list. To achieve this, a full-time student must complete at least 12 credit hours and achieve a grade point average of 3.6 per semester.

Farmville Catherine Rutherford was honored by the College of Charleston by being named to the President’s Roll for the spring semester of 2024. Rutherford is majoring in English at the university. To qualify for the President’s List, a student must maintain a grade point average of 3.8 or higher and complete at least 12 semester hours.

We have another member of the President’s List to recognize, this time from Georgia Southern University. The school recognized Farmville’s Christine Jones for work in the spring semester of 2024. To qualify for the President’s List at Georgia Southern, a student must have a grade point average of at least 4.0 and have completed at least 12 semester hours.

Mattison Kinnemeanwhile, he was recently named to the 2024 New England Small College Athletic Conference spring baseball team. The distinction is awarded to sophomores, juniors and seniors who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher. Kinne, a rising student majoring in physics, is a graduate of Prince Edward County High School.
