Yankees’ Aaron Judge is not participating in the Home Run Derby

Aaron Judge will undoubtedly be in Texas for the All-Star Game, but he won’t participate in the Home Run Derby.

Judge said Saturday that he would not participate in the event, even though he led the majors with 28 runs scored and most recently flew over the right-field fence in the first inning of Saturday’s game against the Braves.

“I won’t do it,” Judge said before the Yankees’ game against Atlanta at the stadium.

He added that people around the event asked if he would attend, but he declined.

“There is no need for that this year,” Judge said.

When asked if he was done with the party for good, the judge replied that he would do it again.

“I’m not done with it,” said Judge, who won the competition in 2017 as a rookie. “When he’s back in New York, I’ll be there.”

Judge and Giancarlo Stanton took batting practice on the field before Saturday’s game, a rarity in the Bronx.
