A father saves a two-year-old from drowning in a swimming pool

HIXSON, Tenn. (WDEF) – A fun family event turned into a panic when a two-year-old child nearly drowned in a pool on Sunday.

During the party at 8516 Bay Run Drive, another child saw the toddler at the bottom of the pool and alerted her father.

The parent jumped into the pool and began taking life-saving measures.

The Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department reported that the child began coughing and breathing again.

HCEMS took the child to the hospital for further medical care.

Dallas Bay VFD Chief Marcus Fritts and emergency personnel commend the dad for his quick actions to save the baby.
