Two arrested on suspicion of murder following death at holiday park

A man and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of another man at a holiday park.

Dorset Police said they received a report just after midnight expressing concerns for the welfare of a man believed to be at Heron Lake at Warmwell Holiday Park in Crossways.

A 70-year-old man from Birmingham was found in the water and pronounced dead at the scene.

Following an investigation, a second man and woman, both in their 50s and from Birmingham, were arrested. Police said the three were known to each other.

The woman was also arrested on charges of perverting the course of justice.

Det Insp Shaun Inkpen said officers were carrying out an “extensive” search of the holiday park and part of it had been cordoned off.

He said he wanted to talk to anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious from Saturday evening to early Sunday morning at the park.
