Lansing firefighter injured in house fire Monday morning

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – One Lansing Fire Department firefighter is recovering from minor injuries suffered during a house fire in Lansing early Monday morning. Crews responded to a fire at 3:04 a.m. at 300 E. St. Joseph Street. The injured firefighter was transported to a district hospital for medical examination.

The Lansing Fire Department said in a news release Monday that neighbors reported to crews at the scene that no one was home at the time of the fire.

According to the Lansing Fire Department, the fire caused significant damage to the home, totaling approximately $100,000. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

As a result of the fire, one firefighter suffered minor injuries.(WILX-TV)

E. St Joseph Street was blocked between River and Cherry streets while crews worked to extinguish the fire. The Lansing Fire Department said it took them about an hour to extinguish the flames.
