Key Sounders duo ‘effectively suspended’ after locker room altercation

According to local media reports, Sounders at Heart Seattle stars Raúl Ruidíaz and Nouhou have been “effectively suspended” ahead of the Sounders’ MLS match against the Chicago Fire next weekend.

The duo reportedly got into a locker room altercation with head coach Brian Schmetzer after they refused to join their teammates in thanking fans after last weekend’s dramatic 3-2 win over Dallas.

When asked directly about the situation, Schmetzer did not want to reveal any details and described the situation as an “internal matter.”

Ruidíaz and Nouhou are key players in an already struggling Seattle team that currently sits 10th in the Western Conference after 20 games.
