MS examined “various car license plates”

Labor has administratively suspended Islwyn Senedd member Rhianon Passmore from the party pending an investigation into allegations relating to her actions.

In a statement, the Labor Party said that “all complaints are dealt with in accordance with the Party’s complaints procedures.”

The decision was made in response to allegations on Guido Fawkes’ website that Ms Passmore had been seen driving a car with two different number plates.

The BBC has approached Ms Passmore for comment.

Guido Fawkes reported that Ms Passmore “was spotted leaving the Welsh Parliament car park with her registration number sticking out, revealing another underneath”.

A Labor Party spokesman said: “The Labor Party takes the conduct of our elected representatives extremely seriously and all complaints are dealt with in accordance with the party’s complaints procedure.”

Ms Passmore has represented Islwyn in Cardiff Bay since 2016.

Its suspension leaves Labor in the Senedd with only 29 of 60 seats.

In 2018, the Labour politician was suspended from the Welsh Parliament for two weeks for failing to take a breathalyser test.

On February 12, 2018, she was banned from driving by a Newport court after she admitted failing to provide a sample for analysis.

The Assembly Standards Committee’s recommendation to exclude her for 14 days was accepted without objection in the Senedd chamber.

She apologized at the time, referring to “private struggles that have been difficult for me to manage.”

Mrs Passmore stated that on the day of her arrest she tried to drive from Cardiff to her mother’s house after drinking three glasses of wine.

Mrs Passmore said she had an asthma attack and took a high dose of the drug prednisone.

Her car broke down in St Mellons and while she was waiting for roadside assistance, police arrived and asked her to take a breath sample.

The standards committee’s report shows that she tried twice but failed.

Ms Passmore stated that she had not intentionally neglected to collect the sample and was concerned that she had not been able to take her asthma medication correctly.
