Two men arrested after police found four women held hostage in a shipping container

Two men have been arrested after four women were kidnapped and held captive in a storage container in Pennsylvania after witnessing a shooting, officials said.

According to law enforcement officials, Davaun Carlon Jackson, 29, of East Stroudsburg, and Isaiah Rogers-Keeney, 19, of Middletown, were arrested by state troopers at the Walmart in Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday at approximately 10:44 a.m.

Jackson was charged with, among others, kidnapping, rape and terroristic threats, while Rogers-Keeney was charged with complicity.

Their whereabouts were provided by a civilian who stated that a Ford SUV was traveling north on Route 33 with two victims inside.

Police said they caught up with the vehicle in the parking lot of a Walmart Supercenter. They found Rogers-Keeney and one of the victims in the vehicle and also saw Jackson leaving the Walmart with the other victim.

“Troopers, along with Pocono Mountain Regional Authorities, located the suspects’ vehicle at a Walmart in Monroe County. They waited and set up a perimeter and when the suspects exited the Walmart, they were taken into custody,” said Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Anthony Petroski. Local News 21.

“It was ultimately discovered that the four women had been kidnapped by two different people. They were tied up, sexually harassed and threatened.”

Monroe County District Attorney Mike Mancuso said WFMZ that the victims were between 17 and 21 years old. Two of them witnessed the shooting in Wilkes-Barre, 6abc – he said, citing court records.

After the shooting, they were ordered to get into a Ford SUV, and once inside, they saw two other women were also inside the vehicle.

Investigators believe the men took the women to a property in Smithfield Township owned by Jackson on Monday.

According to reports, all four were then placed in a shipping container and three were tied with ropes and restrained.

Police say Jackson threatened to kill the women while having “multiple weapons” and also sexually assaulted two of them.

“There was a car chase, there were kidnappings, transport to places of confinement, murder threats, chaos and sexual assaults,” Mancuso said WFMZ. “There was one minor there. The minor was 17 years old. The others were in the age range, I think 18 to 21.

Jackson and Rogers-Keeney allegedly took the women on Tuesday to another property that Jackson also owns, where he allowed one of the victims to retrieve her phone. She then called her mother, according to the district attorney.

“It was the mother of one of the victims who called the police,” Mancuso said.

The district attorney said officials had been tracking Jackson before the incident occurred.

“He has been under investigation over the last few months,” Mancuso said.

He added that all victims, including the victim in the Wilkes-Barre shooting, will survive and that Monroe County is ensuring the four kidnapping victims have access to mental health care.

A lawyer listed on the Rogers-Keeney registry said: Newswatch 16, “The only statement I will make now is that I have spoken to my client and that he maintains his innocence in this matter.”
