Parents say they removed drywall from their 3-year-old son after a tree hit their house

WINDSOR, Conn. (WFSB/Gray News) – A tree fell on a house in Connecticut during a storm late Wednesday night.

The parents said they were putting their 3-year-old son to bed when they saw the ceiling fall on the child.

The parents said that after 10:15 p.m., a massive tree fell on their roof and drywall fell on the boy. The baby started crying, but nothing happened to him.

“We were going to bed and I heard a loud bang, then I heard glass shattering, and then I heard my son crying, and I went into his room and took the ceiling off him and ran downstairs to our lower level,” said Shai Conniff, the homeowner.

A terrifying moment for one Windsor family.

No injuries were reported. The family said their two dogs were also doing well.

However, they described what happened as very close.

Authorities said that due to the size of the tree, it would take some time to clean up the tree and restore the house to its original condition.

In the meantime, the parents said they planned to stay with family.
