Illegal immigrant arrested for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl in upstate New York

An illegal immigrant has been arrested for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl in his car in upstate New York.

Sakir Akkan, 21, allegedly forced the girl into his vehicle in Albany early May 14 after threatening her with a metal pole, News13 reports, citing court documents.

Akkan, who is from Turkey, then allegedly stripped the girl of her clothes and raped her, for which he is pressing charges.

Last week he was caught and charged with first-degree rape.

Court records show his address is in Troy, New York, but he is not a U.S. citizen.

He is being held in the Albany County Jail without bail.
