Joe Biden Tells Katie Couric That Reporters Have Told Him Their Concerns If Donald Trump Returns to the White House

As he spoke at a fundraiser in the Bay Area today, Joe Biden noticed Katie Couric among the attendees.

“Two of your former colleagues who don’t work at the same network have personally told me that if he wins, they will have to leave the country because he is threatening to put them in jail,” Biden said, according to the Pool report.

He didn’t say who he was talking to, but the comment was one of a series of remarks he made about Trump. “He supports political violence. No president since the Civil War has done this. Embrace it. Encourage it,” according to the pool report, Biden said.

Biden spoke at an event at the home of Robert Klein, a developer who lives in the Los Altos Hills.

The president wrapped up a fundraising drive on the West Coast that also included an event Tuesday at Haim Saban’s home in Los Angeles. Biden sometimes throws some more candid remarks at donors, as he told a crowd on Wednesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin is a “crazy whiner.”

Biden is increasingly drawing contrasts with Trump, his likely rematch opponent in November’s general election.

I’m not the gift of all presidents, but I’m damn sure I’m better than the last one,” Biden said, according to the pool.
