Fort Worth police officer under investigation for use of force

A Fort Worth police officer is under investigation for using force on a woman during an arrest.

The police were investigating a road accident that occurred on Sunday morning. The driver was probably drunk.

Carolyn Rodriguez was there recording the officers. She had no connection with the crime or investigation.

Police say Rodriguez repeatedly contacted and questioned police while livestreaming on her social media site.

One of the officers ordered Rodriguez to cross the street and then grabbed her arm to arrest her.

Surveillance and body camera footage shows Rodriguez being knocked to the ground, injuring her as she fell.

After receiving medical attention, Rodriguez was booked on charges of disrupting public duties, resisting arrest and evading arrest. She posted a photo of her injuries on her social media profile.

The police did not identify the officer who made the arrest. He was transferred pending an internal affairs investigation.

A police observer who works for the city outside the police department is also investigating the case.
