The rest of the article is as follows.

Original article, June 27, 2024 (04:56 ET): The roaming feature is one of the most important features for travelers, allowing users to stay connected without having to switch to a local SIM or eSIM. Unfortunately, it appears that international roaming is not available to many US carrier subscribers.

Social media users and Redditors have reported that international roaming is not available for AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon users. Users are facing multiple connectivity issues and unable to access calls, SMS and data with varying degrees of success.

The outage does not appear to be limited to any one country or region. Users have reported problems in countries such as China, Colombia, Egypt, various European countries, Kenya and Mexico.

We asked AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon for a statement on the outage and its cause. We will update the article as soon as these companies contact us.

In the meantime, you can buy a local SIM card or try an international eSIM service like Airalo to meet your international data needs.
