Man jailed as boy forced to sell drugs

Keynaan Xuseen will be subject to a Slavery and Trafficking Prevention Order (Cambridgeshire Police)

Police are warning of the dangers of child exploitation after a man who forced a child to pay off a debt by selling drugs was jailed.

Officers arrested a 16-year-old boy in Peterborough with £1,620 worth of wraps of Class A drugs, a ‘zombie’ knife and £421.80 in cash.

They discovered the boy, originally from London, had only been in the city for a week and had been coerced by 22-year-old Keynaan Xuseen.

Xuseen, of Western Road, Southall, Greater London, admitted drugs and exploitation offenses at Cambridge Crown Court last month and was jailed for three years. The boy was released without charge.

Cambridgeshire Police said Xuseen had made numerous train journeys from London to Peterborough with the boy in the week before his arrest.

The boy was arrested in the city center after CCTV operators witnessed what they suspected was drug dealing.

Once in custody, police established that he had only been in Peterborough for a week and was staying at a flat on Lincoln Road.

A search of the flat led officers to Xuseen and they discovered two mobile phones and around £1,480 worth of crack cocaine.

“County Lines”

Xuseen admitted being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin, as well as possession with intent to supply heroin.

He will be subject to a Slavery and Trafficking Prevention Order when he is released from prison after admitting organizing or facilitating a person’s travel for the purpose of exploitation.

Detective Tracey Black said: “County names such as Xuseen often target young people or vulnerable people. This boy was forced to carry a weapon and put himself in danger, transporting and selling large quantities of heroin and crack cocaine.

“We are working tirelessly to crack down on people like Xuseen who choose to exploit children and put them in harm’s way. »

Officers want anyone concerned about child exploitation to contact them.
