A nurse who incorrectly gave a woman a sleeping pill in the middle of the day demonstrated a serious deficit in medication knowledge, an investigation has heard.

The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) heard that a nurse with fourteen years’ experience in general nursing had demonstrated a potentially serious lack of awareness of commonly used medicines.
