Teacher admits to sexually abusing Bangkok Post Learning student

A music teacher at a prominent public school in Bangkok has admitted sexually abusing a 15-year-old student for almost two years after more than 100 video clips of the abuse were found on his phone.

The boy’s mother said she learned about the abuse from her son last Thursday.

She said her son had been subjected to sexual abuse by a music teacher for almost two years. The teacher also threatened him not to tell anyone about it.

The boy’s mother said the teacher had recently become more aggressive, adding that he often urged her to enroll her son in special tutoring classes.

The school principal promised to initiate an investigation that will last seven months. The parents said it would take too much time, so instead they contacted the Sai Mai Tong Rod Facebook page for help.

The founder of the website announced that he would contact the deputy minister of education and persuade him to take action against the music teacher.

Police said the teacher confessed to the crime after video recordings were found on his mobile phone. None of the clips have been shared online.
