Igor Severino suspended for nine months, fined PLN 2,000. dollars by NAC for the UFC biting incident

The bizarre fight biting incident that occurred earlier this year in the UFC has finally been resolved.

Igor Severino, who was disqualified and removed from the UFC in March after biting opponent Andre Lima, was suspended for nine months and fined $2,000 by the Nevada Athletic Commission. NAC announced its decision Tuesday during its monthly board meeting.

Severino’s suspension is retroactive to the date of the incident, meaning it will end on December 23.

The 21-year-old Brazilian has been vocal about the fallout from the incident, not only facing disciplinary action from the NAC, but also being cut from the UFC, receiving a lot of criticism online and struggling financially because he couldn’t fight.

Severino was undefeated entering his first and last UFC fight. The disqualification against Lima is his only professional defeat. He joined the organization after winning a contract for Dana White’s 2023 Contender Series.
