Squad representative Summer Lee’s shocking response to a question about the murder of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray

Far-left Rep. Summer Lee (D-Pa.) said Wednesday she had never heard of Jocelyn Nungaray, the 12-year-old girl whose murder — allegedly at the hands of two undocumented Venezuelan migrants — has sparked new calls for tougher border policies.

I don’t know who she is. I live in Pittsburgh,” Pennsylvania Democrat Hillary Vaughn told Fox Business reporter when asked about the Nungarays’ torture and killings last week in Houston.

“I live in Pittsburgh. I don’t know anything about it,” Lee repeated when pressed by a reporter before entering her office on Capitol Hill.

Republican Pennsylvania Senate candidate Dave McCormick’s campaign called Lee’s responses “disgusting.” AP

After Lee came to light, a reporter asked the 36-year-old congresswoman if it was time to end the Biden administration’s policy of paroling migrants apprehended crossing the border illegally – a policy that has allowed federal authorities to release migrants en masse to the U.S. awaiting immigration court proceedings.

“I have to check it out,” Lee replied, offering to talk to the reporter later.

Several other Democratic lawmakers – none from Texas – called Nungaray’s killing horrific, but similarly stopped short of placing blame on the 81-year-old president when asked by a reporter.

Lee’s responses drew the ire of another Pennsylvanian, Dave McCormick, a Republican Senate candidate in the Keystone State.

“This is disgusting,” McCormick’s campaign wrote on X, sharing an excerpt from Lee’s comments.

“Her name is Jocelyn Nungaray,” McCormick wrote in his own post. “Bob Casey should be absolutely ashamed that he continues to support Summer Lee.”

McCormick is challenging longtime Pennsylvania Sen. Bob Casey (R-PA) for the seat in November.

Lee, who is challenging Republican James Hayes in Pennsylvania’s 12th District, has gained Casey’s endorsement.

Her office did not respond to The Post’s request for comment.

Johan Jose Rangel Martinez, 21, and Franklin Jose Pena Ramos, 26, were charged with murder Thursday in connection with the death of Jocelyn Nungaray. gofundme

Authorities say Nungaray was attacked for two hours before being strangled to death under a Houston bridge on June 16 by suspects Franklin Jose Pena Ramos, 26, and Johan Jose Rangel Martinez, 21.

The Post’s sources say Ramos crossed the southern border illegally in May.

Meanwhile, Martinez entered the country in March and was given an ankle monitor, but it was removed in May after it was determined he had no criminal record.

Both men were charged with murder with particular cruelty.

The Nungaray family sharply criticized the Biden administration’s immigration policies and demanded a “safer country.”

“We have to stop burying our children, it’s not right,” Nungaray’s mother, Alexis, told Fox News’ Sean Hannity on Tuesday night.

“We need to be more enforceable about letting people in. This isn’t right, this isn’t right.”

Lawmakers also noted the ongoing migration crisis at the southern border in the wake of Nungaray’s murder.

“Joe Biden’s open borders policy continues to devastate American communities,” Republican Elise Stefanik (R-NY) said in a statement.

“This unnecessary human tragedy is the latest loss resulting from a humanitarian crisis that is devastating American communities and families,” Stefanik said of Nungaray’s death.
