Winnipeg news: Transcona house explosion

The City of Winnipeg is asking people to avoid the Camrose Bay area after a house explosion.

According to a post on X, the city said fire crews are at the scene of a house explosion in the Transcona area and are working to extinguish hot spots in neighboring homes.

“Residents are advised to avoid the area until further notice,” the post reads.

The city authorities reported that as a result of the explosion, one of the houses was completely razed to the ground.

Firefighters are working to stabilize the situation and extinguish fires in neighboring houses.

They say no injuries have been reported at this time.

Cons. Jason Michalyshen with the Winnipeg Police Service said police were notified of the incident just before noon and officers are currently on scene establishing a perimeter and keeping people away from the area.
