Society’s reaction to beach harassment

Greek citizens are showing great interest in ensuring unimpeded access to and enjoyment of beaches across the country as the number of complaints submitted via the MyCoast app increases week by week.

According to data from the General Secretariat for Information Systems of the Ministry of Digitization, approximately 52,000 citizens downloaded the application to their mobile phones, and the number of complaints about abuses committed by companies on beaches increased to 8,911.

An estimated 2,640 complaints were filed between June 18 and 24, an increase of 50% compared to the previous week.
