Delaware is mourning a 911 dispatcher who was killed Tuesday in a head-on crash

Kent County Emergency Services is remembering 31-year-old Brian Moore, a 911 dispatcher with the Kent County Department of Public Safety and a volunteer firefighter with the Camden-Wyoming Fire Department.

Moore was killed Tuesday morning in a crash in Woodside after a car crossed the center line and struck his vehicle head-on. Two other people were also injured in the collision.

“Brian was an integral part of our team, known for his unwavering positive attitude and unwavering commitment to serving our community,” the Kent County Department of Public Safety wrote on Facebook. “His sudden loss leaves a void in our hearts and our department.”

Many who knew Moore changed their profile pictures to a Kent County Department of Public Safety badge with Moore’s code, EC29, in the center. Colleagues shared memories of Moore’s friendly banter and “big heart” online, and others who knew him even in passing commented on his constant smile.

“Together as one family we grieve, united in respect and admiration for Brian’s contributions to our lives and our safety,” the Kent County Department of Public Safety said.

The department wrote on Facebook that details about funeral services and memorials will be announced in the coming days.
