Three people charged after serious attack in Saskatoon

Two men and one woman have been arrested and charged in connection with a violent assault that occurred on Monday evening.

At approximately 8:50 p.m., city police received a report of a robbery on a train bridge in the 1300 block of 33rd Street East and reports of suspects leaving in a vehicle heading toward 25th Street, police said in a news release Monday.

Officers responding to the scene on 33rd Street found a man with injuries that were considered serious but not life-threatening. The release said he was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital.

The officers who arrived at the scene received registration numbers from the witness.

A short time later, they located the suspect vehicle and conducted a high-risk roadside stop.

A 22-year-old man, a 23-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman will be charged with aggravated assault. The 22-year-old is also charged with breaching court-ordered conditions and has an outstanding burglary warrant.
