A Bryan woman is arrested for the second time in six months on suspicion of theft.

On Monday (June 24), 48-year-old Laura Rivera-Lopez was booked into the Brazos County Jail on a warrant charging her with a June 13 home invasion.

An arrest report from Bryan police says Lopez broke into a home she occasionally cleaned and stole $800 intended for employees of the victim’s moving company.

The arrest report also included a summary of Lopez’s statement to police, in which she apologized for entering the house through a window and said she used the stolen money to pay rent.

When Lopez was found on Monday, she was also charged with possession of crack cocaine.

At the time of Monday’s arrest, Lopez was free on bond following a January arrest on theft charges and had at least two prior convictions.

As of Wednesday (June 26), he remains in jail in lieu of bail totaling $45,000.

Online records show this is the 23rd time Lopez has been in the Brazos County Jail since April 2009 and that she has been convicted twice of theft.
