A 78-year-old man died in a Saulda Co. ATV crash

Virginia State Police have released the identity of the person killed in a fatal single-vehicle crash on March 4 on Route 39 in Bath County.

Saluda County, South Carolina (WJBF) – The Saluda County Coroner’s Office responded to a call from the Regional Health Care Emergency Department in Greenwood, South Carolina on Tuesday.

The call was for a death resulting from a collision between an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) and a full-size Ford pickup truck in Saluda County.

The accident occurred just outside the Saluda city limits on Highway 378/Columbia Hwy. near Barr Woods Road around 10:30 a.m. on June 26.

The RTV driver was transported to Self Regional Healthcare, but died shortly after arrival.

Coroner Keith Turner identified the driver as 78-year-old Warren Butler Sr.

An autopsy has been scheduled as the SC Highway Patrol and the Saluda County Coroner’s Office investigate the collision and death.
