A 50-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fire at a Bangor charity shop. Suspected arson is considered probable.

Firefighters have now left the area, but police are still working at the scene.

At the height of the fire, four fire brigades were working on site.

“Shortly later, officers arrested a 50-year-old man on suspicion of arson and bodily harm.

“He remains in police custody at the moment.

“We are treating this as arson and enquiries are ongoing. I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone with CCTV or other footage that may assist our investigation to contact police on 101, quoting reference 176 of 28 August 2024.”
