A biker was seriously hurt in a collision in Selby earlier this month, and police are now appealing to witnesses.

YorkMix reported that a motorcycle and a van collided on the A1041 Bawtry Road, near the junction with Canal Road, at about 7.25pm on Friday 7 June.

The fire service had described the bike as a moped, but North Yorkshire Police say it was a white, red and blue 125cc motorcycle.

It was in collision with a white Ford Transit Connect van.

The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries – he was taken to hospital for treatment.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for people to get in touch if they saw the collision as it occurred, or saw either vehicle prior to the collision, or have relevant dashcam footage.”
