Lenny Kravitz is saving himself for someone special.

In a new interview for Guardian published on Thursday, May 30 Blue electric light The 60-year-old artist spoke about his relationship status.

Kravitz told the outlet that it has been nine years since he was in a serious relationship. The rocker added that he takes previous claims of wanting to remain celibate during this process seriously.

“Yes. It’s a spiritual thing,” he said.

And although he would like to find love, that special someone will probably have to adapt to the lifestyle of the “Are You Gonna Go My Way” hitmaker.

“I became very attached to my habits, to my way of life,” Kravitz added.

In 2008 it opened for Maxim about his decision to practice celibacy.

“(It’s) just a promise I made until I get married. Where I am, women have to have something different, not just the body, but the mind and the spirit,” Kravitz said at the time.

He added: “Usually it would unsettle them, but that’s the way it’s going to be. I’m looking at the big picture.”

Kravitz returned to the topic in a July 2011 interview with The New York Times. Detailssaying that his words may have been taken somewhat out of context.

“Sorry, man, I’m not going to address that question. I said it and it got blown out of proportion,” he told TODAY when asked about the subject.

In a recent interview with Gayle King for CBS Morningsthe TV host asked about the four-time Grammy winner’s love life.

“Friend Question — Is there love in your life? Do you have a significant other in your life? And can I kick their ass if you do?” the journalist, 59, jokingly asked in an interview aired May 23.

“Oops, did I say that out loud?” added the King.

Kravitz was clearly taken aback by her directness, but he laughed along with her. King doubled down and asked, “But do you have a partner? Do you have love in your life?”

“I’m just open now,” he replied.

She then questioned whether the “Fly Away” singer was “even looking” for someone special.

“It’s hard not to look,” he replied. “You know that when you want something, you look for it, right? But I’ve found that if you don’t look, you’ll find it.”

“And I’ve been at a place for a few years now where I’ve been like, ‘I’m ready.’ I’m ready. I’m ready,” he said. “I wasn’t ready. I thought I was ready, right? But I can tell you I’ve never felt like I feel now.”

Kravitz was married to Lisa Bonet from November 1987 to 1993. The couple first welcomed a daughter, Zoë, in 1988.

He has since been linked to Vanessa Paradis, Adriana Lima and Nicole Kidman.
