The video shows the moment police arrest a man accused of plotting to kidnap Holly Willoughby

A security guard accused of plotting to kidnap, rape and murder Holly Willoughby said the star was “my fantasy” as police raided his apartment, according to video footage recorded in court.

Gavin Plumb, 37, was shirtless when officers broke down the front door and burst into his home in Harlow, Essex, on October 4 last year.

The officer handcuffed Plumb, who was in a bedroom on the property, moments after they entered.

In a recording played at Chelmsford Crown Court, Plumb shouted: “What are you talking about,” before adding: “Please explain to me what the hell is going on.”

When told he was being arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit kidnapping, Plumb asked, “Who?” and was told it was Mrs. Willoughby.

The defendant asked, “OK, where is this from?” and the officer told him he would “explain it to you in custody.”

Later, in a recording from October 4 last year, he told police: “I’m not going to lie, she’s my fantasy.”

Earlier in the trial, it was revealed that Plumb had unknowingly entered into an online conversation with an undercover US police officer whom he believed to be a man called David Nelson.

In his conversation with the undercover agent, Plumb told of his plans to “throw her (Mrs. Willoughby) into the lake at night” once he had finished raping her.

The accused denies inciting murder, inciting rape and inciting kidnapping.

The jury was also shown a video of Plumb in police custody, in which the defendant spoke but his words were inaudible.

Defence solicitor Sasha Wass KC told the court: “I wanted the jury to see that Mr Plumb spoke freely and what he was like then and what he is like now.”

The defendant previously told jurors his current weight was about 24-and-a-half stone.

The trial heard he weighed around 30 stone when he was arrested.

Plumb said he followed legal advice when he later made no comment during a police interview.

The trial continues.
