MCLEAN COUNTY JAIL

Kevin L. Ewen, 43, was charged in April 2023 with aggravated battery, obstructing an officer and two counts of resisting an officer.

Police said he injured a prison guard’s hands and knees when he wrenched his hands from the grips of two Bloomington police officers and two prison guards.

Ewen pleaded guilty Tuesday to aggravated assault on a police officer, and the remaining charges were dismissed.

Judge Jason Chambers sentenced him to 30 days in jail, with credit for 15 days already served, and 30 months probation.

Deputy Public Defender Nicole Mannen did not respond to a request for comment Friday.
