NHL analyst Jeremy Roenick suspended after bizarre threesome comments

A well-known former NHL star and current television commentator has been suspended by the network where he works after a steamy and completely inappropriate conversation in which he discussed threesome sex with his wife and a co-worker.

Hockey analyst Jeremy Roenick, who moved to television after a 20-year professional career with five different NHL teams, has been suspended without pay by NBC Sports following his guest appearance on the Barstool Sports podcast “Spittin’ Chiclets.”

The 49-year-old, who retired from professional hockey in 2009, made the comments after being asked about a trip to Portugal he took with his wife and friend Kathryn Tappen, who is married to another former player, Patrick Sharp.

Roenick told a story about a woman who approached him, his wife and Tappen in the hotel pool and asked if both women were with him, which he confirmed.

“And then Kathryn says, ‘Will you shut up?’ He starts screaming at me,” Roenick said.

“I think we’ll lie in bed together every night, the three of us.

“If this actually came to fruition, it would be really good, but it will never happen.”

The strange conversation took a turn when Roenick also brought Sharp into the conversation, saying he “wouldn’t say no” to the idea of meeting his former player.

“He’s so beautiful. I’d have to think twice if he asked me,” Roenick said.

“I wouldn’t say no right away.”

NBC does not spare words about suspension

NBC has been tight-lipped about Roenick’s suspension, other than confirming through a spokesperson that it happened earlier.

Despite the strange references, Roenick emphasized during the podcast interview that he has the utmost respect for colleagues Tappen and Sharp.

“She’s as prepared as anyone. She wants people to respect her for her knowledge of the sport, not just because she has a pretty face,” Roenick said of Tappen.

“She’s really amazing, she’s one of my favorite people in the world. I’m lucky to live next door to her. She’s a good friend of mine.”
