Teenagers charged in alleged serious assault

Three teenagers have been charged with attacking a 17-year-old Beenleigh boy who was found lying “seriously injured” in the middle of a road.

Police say emergency services were called to the junction of Alamein Street and Savages Parade at around 11pm on Wednesday (June 26) following reports of a “man lying in the middle of the road”.

On arrival, police found a 17-year-old boy from Beenleigh with serious injuries.

“He was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition,” a police statement said.

As of today (Saturday 29th June), the 17-year-old remains in hospital in a “serious but stable condition”.

Police said a 16-year-old boy from Eagleby and two 15-year-old boys from Beenleigh have each been charged with grievous bodily harm and will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.
