This week, the Novato Fire District hosted a youth fire academy.

Fire Squirts Day Camp introduces kids ages 10-14 to all aspects of firefighting. The week-long camp was held at the fire department’s training center at Station 62 on Atherton Avenue.

Camp participants are selected by a consortium of nonprofit and community organizations, including Marin Advocates for Children, Marin Big Brothers Big Sisters, North Marin Community Services and the city parks department.
