‘Dead Boy Detectives’ Trailer Reveals Ghosts, Zombies, Evil Witches, Demons and More — Update

UPDATE AT 7:00 AM: Netflix has released the official trailer for Dead Boy Detectives ahead of its April 25 premiere. “Welcome to the Dead Boy Detective Agency,” the trailer begins. “We help ghosts solve their mysteries. Ghosts who can’t let go.”

Dead Boy Detectives brings to life Neil Gaiman’s comics of the same name. It stars George Rexstrew and Jayden Revri as two friends who meet in death and help solve paranormal mysteries in the mortal realm.

PREVIOUS, March 20: Netflix has set an April 25 release date for its upcoming dark YA genre series Dead Boy Detectives. Below are some more early photos.

Based on the comics of the same name by Neil Gaiman and part of the Sandman universe, Dead Boy Detectives follows Edwin Payne (George Rexstrew) and Charles Rowland (Jayden Revri), the “brains” and “brains” behind the Dead Boy Detectives agency. Teenagers born decades apart and only reunited in death, Edwin and Charles are best friends and ghosts… who solve mysteries.

They’ll do anything to stay together, including escaping evil witches, Hell, and Death itself. With the help of a psychic named Crystal (Kassius Nelson) and her friend Niko (Yuyu Kitamura), they solve some of the mortal realm’s most mysterious paranormal cases.

The 8-episode series also stars Kassius Nelson, Jenn Lyon, Briana Cuoco, Yuyu Kitamura, Ruth Connell, Lukas Gage and David Iacono.

Dead Boy Detectives was developed for television by Steve Yockey, who wrote the first episode and serves as showrunner alongside Beth Schwartz as co-showrunner. Greg Berlanti, Yockey, Schwartz, Jeremy Carver, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman and Gaiman serve as executive producers on the series from Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television. The first episode is produced and directed by Lee Toland Krieger.
