Gardai launch appeal after cyclist seriously injured in Ballymore crash



Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to come forward following a road accident in Ballymore yesterday (Thursday) afternoon, which resulted in a cyclist being taken to hospital with “serious” injuries.

The incident happened on Moate Road in Ballymore yesterday afternoon.

Shortly before 1:30 p.m., police and emergency services were notified of a collision between a car and a bicycle.

The cyclist, a man in his 50s, was taken to the Midland Regional Hospital in Tullamore. Gardaí said this evening that the man is currently being treated for serious injuries.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash cam footage) and were traveling in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available for Gardaí inquiries.
