Cannabis trafficking suspect held in Knox County Jail

On Wednesday, June 26, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Unit, with assistance from the Knoxville Police Department, conducted a narcotics investigation and intercepted multiple packages of drugs headed to a residence in Macomb in McDonough County, according to a news release.

On Friday, June 28, officers arrested 42-year-old Kiel Branchfield of Macomb. Branchfield was found to be in possession of a large amount of currency.


Knox County Deputies searched a Macomb residence. During the search, a large amount of marijuana and cash were seized.

Branchfield was booked into the Knox County Jail and charged with trafficking in marijuana and possession with intent to deliver or manufacture a controlled substance.
