After Bannon was convicted, Nichols agreed to a suspended prison sentence while Bannon appealed the verdict.

He ordered Bannon to report to prison after the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld Bannon’s conviction last month.

Last Friday, Bannon filed an emergency appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court in an attempt to avoid punishment.

The Supreme Court did not present any breakdown of votes in its decision to reject his motion.
