LABI Eastern PAC Endorses Chief Justice John Michael Guidry of the Louisiana Supreme Court | Politics









ROUGE BATON—East PAC, the political action committee of the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry (LABI), has announced its endorsement of Chief Judge John Michael Guidry for District 2 Superior Court Judge in the upcoming November 5, 2024 election.

“Judge John Michael Guidry has served the people of Louisiana as a judge for over twenty years, and has also served in the state House of Representatives and the state Senate,” said Milton Graugnard, chairman of the East PAC. “Judge Guidry’s legal experience and his performance as chief judge of the First District Court of Appeals in Louisiana provide a proven track record of serving as a judge with integrity and representing the district with dignity.”

“We encourage the business community to support Chief Judge Guidry in his election this fall,” said Jim Patterson, LABI’s interim political director. “The business community must support candidates who will be conscientious jurists and apply the law fairly and even-handedly. Judge Guidry has a strong record of intellectual leadership on the bench. We are proud to support such a well-prepared and qualified justice on our highest court.”

District 2 of the Louisiana Supreme Court was recently amended by the legislature (Act 7 of the 2024 Regular Session) and now includes the parishes of Avoyelles, Concordia, East Carroll, East Feliciana, Iberville, Madison, Richland, Parish of St. HelenaTensas Parish, West Baton Rouge Parish, and West Feliciana Parish, as well as parts of East Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Ouachita, Rapides, and St. Parish.
