The 32-year-old told police he was going to “stab” officers

A Peel man will be sentenced later this year after admitting making abusive or threatening calls to emergency services.

Jamie Roy Griffin, from Corran Pirragh, called the Emergency Services Joint Control Center at around 4am on June 16.

The 32-year-old claimed that he was beaten in the city centre and intended to go to the attacker’s house with a knife to hurt him in return.

When the police called him back, he said he would “stab any cop” who showed up at his address.

The officers went to his property and arrested him after a few hours.

At the Douglas Courthouse Deputy High Bailiff Rachael Braidwood adjourned the case until July 2.
