SCDF firefighter sent to hospital after Jurong Fishery Port Road fire, about 40 evacuated – Mothership.SG

A fire broke out at 15 Fishery Port Road yesterday morning (June 28).

According to the shared video Lianhe Zaobao, Large clouds of smoke were seen coming from a two-story industrial building.

About 40 people were evacuated

I am talking with The MothershipThe Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it received a report of the fire at about 10:25am.

About 40 people had left the fire-affected area before their arrival.

Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters from Jurong Island Fire Station and Clementi Fire Station entered the smoky area to locate the fire.

The fire covered the contents of the office measuring 30 by 45 m and was extinguished with two water jets.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.

The firefighter was sent to the hospital

One of the firefighters felt dizzy while extinguishing the fire.

The man’s condition was assessed by a paramedic and he was then taken to hospital as a precaution, SCDF said.
